Create discount deals for your online ordering page — and let AI suggest the best promotions based on your real order history.

What Promotions Do
Promotions let you offer your customers a discount when they order online. You create a deal, and it automatically appears on your ordering page — customers can apply it at checkout.
You can use promotions to:
- Bring in new customers with a first-order discount
- Drive more orders on slow days
- Reward loyal customers with a free item
- Boost a specific menu item with a buy-one-get-one deal
Promotions are available on all plans (Starter and Growth). The AI Deal Maker — which suggests promotions based on your actual sales data — is a Growth plan feature.
The 4 Types of Deals
Percent off
A percentage discount on the entire order total. For example, "15% off your order." Good for first-time customers or slow-day boosts.
Fixed amount off
A flat dollar discount, like "$5 off orders over $30." Best when you want to encourage customers to spend a bit more before applying the deal.
Free item
The customer gets one specific menu item for free when their order reaches a minimum total. For example, "Free spring rolls on orders over $25." Great for introducing customers to an item they haven't tried.
BOGO (Buy One, Get One Free)
The customer buys one unit of a specific item and gets a second unit of the same item free. For example, "Buy one Chicken Ramen, get one free." Best for popular items where you want to drive repeat orders or bring in groups.
Creating a Deal
Go to Dashboard → Promotions and click New Promotion.
Fill in the deal details:
- Name — what customers will see on the ordering page (e.g. "Tuesday Special")
- Description — a short line explaining the deal (e.g. "15% off every Tuesday")
- Discount type — choose one of the 4 types above
- Discount value — the percent, dollar amount, or select a free item / BOGO item from your menu
- Minimum order amount — optional. The deal only applies once the cart reaches this total. Leave at $0 for no minimum.
- Promo code — optional. If you add a code (e.g. TUESDAY15), customers must type it at checkout. Leave blank to apply the deal automatically to all eligible orders.
- Active days — optional. Limit the deal to specific days of the week (e.g. Tuesday only). Leave unset to run every day.
- Active / Inactive toggle — controls whether the deal is currently live on your ordering page.
Click Save to publish it. The deal appears immediately on your ordering page.
Limiting a Deal to Certain Days
When creating or editing a promotion, you can select which days of the week the deal is valid. For example, you might run a "Tuesday Dip" deal only on Tuesdays to boost your slowest day.
If a customer tries to apply the deal on a different day, they'll see a message telling them which days it's available.
This setting uses your restaurant's configured timezone, so the day check is always accurate for your location.
Leave the days unselected to run the deal every day.
AI Deal Maker (Growth Plan)
The AI Deal Maker is available in Dashboard → Revenue Boost → Take Action tab, under the AI Promotion Suggestions section.
Instead of guessing which deal to run, the AI looks at your last 90 days of real order data — including which days are slow, what your average order value is, and which items sell best — and suggests 2–3 specific deals tailored to your restaurant.
Each suggestion includes:
- The deal name and description (ready to use as-is)
- The discount type and value
- An explanation of why this deal was recommended, with specific numbers from your data (e.g. "Tuesdays average only 3 orders vs. your daily average of 9")
- Suggested days to run the deal, if a slow-day pattern is detected
This feature is only available on the Growth plan (Revenue Boost, $149/month).
Activating an AI-Suggested Deal
When you see an AI suggestion you like, click Activate this deal. Wehanda automatically creates the promotion in your Promotions list with all the right settings filled in — you don't need to set anything up manually.
Once activated, the button changes to Deal created! with a link to manage it in your Promotions page.
If you navigate away and come back, the page remembers which suggestions you already activated so you won't accidentally create duplicates.
Monthly Suggestion Limit & Past Suggestions
You can generate up to 20 sets of AI suggestions per restaurant per month. The counter resets on the 1st of each month.
Each time you click Get fresh suggestions, the AI looks at your latest data and creates a new set. Your previous suggestion sets are saved and viewable under Past suggestions — so you never lose an idea you didn't activate right away.
If you reach the monthly limit, you'll see a message with the date it resets. Your most recent suggestions stay visible so you can still review and activate them.
Tracking How Your AI Deals Are Performing
Go to Dashboard → Revenue Boost → Results tab and look for the AI Deals Impact section.
This section shows:
- Active AI deals — how many promotions created from AI suggestions are currently live
- Times used — total number of orders where an AI-suggested deal was redeemed
- Revenue generated — total order value from orders that used an AI-suggested deal
- Discount given — total dollar amount discounted across all those orders
This lets you see at a glance whether the AI suggestions are driving real orders and revenue for your restaurant.
